HDMI/AUDIO how to get sound?

Specs: Windows 7 64bit, phenom IIx4 955 3.20 processor - a-data 1333 2gb x 4 modules
i just installed an hdmi cable from my hdtv to my computers graphics card. not dvi to hdmi but hdmi to hdmi. i can't seem to get any sound!!! ANY SUGGESTIONS? i know that if i was connecting hdmi to dvi, that i would need to use the spdif connector. but straight hdmi to hdmi?

Look in hardware settings. The sound may have a choice from the audio card to the video or such.

Only the Radeon HD and GeForce 400 cards have HDMI audio cores. If you're using an older GeForce with an HDMI port, you'll have to hook the card up to your motherboard's internal S/PDIF to get sound.

thanks, that was my only other option that i have not tried. i hope it works! as of right now, i have my hdmi cable going form my tv to my computer/graphics card with the old audio cable from my tv to my computer and of coarse, no sound! i tryed it because thats the way it worked with the vga setup!
