Well I hope some 1 can help me. Here the problem, I have 2 IDE CD-ROMs (Cdrw as master & DVD as slave) hooked up to the secondary IDE connector on the motherboard. The HDD LED on the front panel of my case stays on all the time and never flashes but if I take off the slave drive the HDD LED works fine. I have the LED’s hood up correctly as far as I know. Any 1 know why this might be doing this??
Here are some things I have tried:
Tried new slave drive.
Tried new IDE cable.
Checked jumper setting on cd-roms.
Tried a different LED.Pc specs:

Thanks,Cy

hello
is the system working corectly other wise.
if it is than its a minor glitch with your mobo drivers.

The System was working fine. No crashes or freezes. It ran for about 2 weeks before I noticed it, but I did take out the slave drive until I get an answer from Intel about this, I just want to get some opinions on this problem and may be find a solution.

Problem solved. Well after 4 day of troubleshooting it turns out the some devices just don’t work on the same IDE cable. I put the DVD as master on the secondary IDE on the motherboard and I put the CDRW as slave with the hard disc (Master) on the primary IDE. The HDD LED works fine now. Below is info on the 2 drives I was having problems with.
Drive Info:
CD-RW:
OptoRite
Model: CW 5205DVD:
Pacific Digital
Model: DHM-G48
