I'm having a problem with this new computer I recently built. My HDD activity led on my case doesn't seem to work. When I first power up my comp it does a quick flash and thats all. I have followed the motherboards manuel precisely even reversing the polarity of the connector. I have even tried pluging it in where the power led goes. It works but it stays on all the time so I know it isn't a dead led. Is it the motherboards fault or the case? Please help I really wanna know when my HD is being used an all.
Is your hd hooked on an ATA card? If not, could be the MOBO problem. You can listen to the sound instead of seeing light to know if the hard drive is working. YOu may want to check out your mobo site to see if any BIOS update that fix the problem.

No my HD isn't hooked up to a ATA card its plugged directly to the motherboard. Well I know I can just listen to the sound of the HD to know if its working but I also want everything to work like how it supposed to. I'll check the motherboards website to see if theres any bios updates that will fix the problem. Thank you for your comments.
