Hello guys!
A quick query concerning HDD corruption. What are the causes of HDD file damage? My FAT32 C: is the boot drive... and i have an NTFS slave 120GB... are the 2 not compatible?? Or is my computer just buggered and keep corrupting my system files for fun causing Unmountable Boot Volume errors?!! A dilemma... a problem with a huge diversity of possible causes. I'm stuck...

Fat32 and NTFS are compleley different. However, they can both co-exist on the same system without a problem. NTFS can only be used by Windows NT/2000/XP. FAT32 can be read by everything except MS-DOS and Win 3.1.

The casue of disk corruption are many, especially with Fat32. NTFS is more resiliant to problems but not totally imune.

I would first get onto the web site of the disk manufacture. Most manufacures produce disk testing software that will give the drive and extensive checkout to root out any problems with the hardware. If that checks out the next thing to look for is a possible virus. Run a good virus checker.
