hd showing 2gig...32gig really

I`ve recently replaced my old hard disc for a 32 gig model.I`ve loaded win 98 and evrything seems ok but the drive is only showing up as 2 gig.any ideas?

could be a bios setting or you might need to update your bios so it can recognize the bigger drive

When you first ran FDISK, did you choose YES to enable large disk support ? This will give you FAT32 system, and allow the 2 gig limit ( of a FAT16 system ) to be overcome.
Also, did you run the Autodetect HDD utility in the BIOS on the new hard drive ?

It may be a bios update task, like someone said.
I upgraded an Intel Pentium 233Mhz MMX PC from 32Mb to 64Mb and even tested 128Mb in it, no probs. Upgraded its 2.4Gig HDD to a 30Gig HDD no prob. But this is because i upgraded the BIOS. The manufacturer IBM said that it could only support up to 10Gig HDD and 64MB Ram but they were wrong.
So the answer is yes, first check on the net for stuff on your PC and then Flash Your BIOS with a newer version from the manufacturer.
