Sorry for anny possible wrighting errors. English ain't my mother language.
When I start my PC it boots the BIOS, then it displays the inserted divices and hangs for 2min, the led of the HD is constantly burning. After the 2min it boots normaly. led keeps burning (never gone out since the power up). Pentium 2 800Mhz, Asus MB could it be that this is coused by the use of a ATA100 cable and a ATA66 HD?

Maybe you have the light hooked up to the wrong place on your motherboard. Have you checked to see about that?

Is the hard drive connected to the primary or secondary IDE? How many 40-pin IDE devices are you using?

led is placed on the correct place. HD is conncted to the primary IDE and single as Master. secondary IDE a CD-ROM and CD writer.
Everything was working perfect before I have taken out all PCI div. and the HD's and placed others in. This was my work PC, now I waned to make it my CD burner, sinds my P4 is my work PC.

If everything was working fine before, and you were using the same IDE cable, then I doubt the cable is at fault. I would insure the CMOS battery is OK, then run scandisk. It wouldn't hurt to defrag the hard drive, esp. if the drive retrieves and saves data slowly. Are you saying that even when the operating system is finally running that the hard drive light is still on, or do you mean it is only on during that 2-minute period you spoke of in your first post? Check your memory. Is all of it being detected? Perhaps remove and reinstall it.
