I have the following system: AMD Athlon xp 2000+ 1.6GHz, 384 MB of ram, 19 gig HD.
I want to buy a new hard drive because my current one is full. any tips on buting a hard drive?? and what is SATA and IDE?? can my motherbord Support sata when it can Support ide ?

Your motherboard can support sata if it has sata onboard. Best way we can answer this is to know what your motherboard is?

In any case, even if your motherboard does NOT have a Serial ATA Controller, you can install a Serial ATA PCI Controller Card into an available (open) PCI slot.
