Hi,

After installing a Samsung TS H552 DVD burner ( secondary master ) my hard disk I keep earing my hard disk ( primary master ) crashing every 10 seconds. The new device is now disconnected and hard disk doesn't crash.

I updated mb's and DVD burner's firmware with no success.

Any idea ?

Thanks

Check your power supply - chances are it's just not up to the job, especially if it's one that came with a bargain case. For adding extra drives you need to look at the current on the +12v line (it'll be printed on a sticker on the PSU.) I personally never use any supplies rated at under 15amps for a modern system & 20amps is preferred.

It could be a defective DVD drive or you could be installing the signal cable or Master/Slave jumper incorrectly.
