Hey everyone i have a messy one for you. I have a MDT hard drive aka Western digital. its a 40gb (WD400EB) and MDT (Magnetc Data Storage) reflashed the bios on the logic board. Problem i have is i need to run the wd diag program on it to verify its status of the platter. The WD Diag program sees the drive as "another manufacturer" and cannot run the test. Its a Westerndigital drive the rev number on the logic board even says so. I was wondering if anyone knows of a program to reflash the bios on the drive so that i can regain the testing status. I peeled the sticker off that MDT put on the drive, by the way MDT does data recovery then sells the drives back on the net to regain value, the sticker underneith said WD400EB-00CPF0 which is a wd drive. Thanks

i didn't know you could flash a whatever on a hard drive

the real question is why did you do it and if you need a program to reflash it...what did you use to do it in the first place?
