laptop was dropped with HD accessed. head crash killed it. Installed new drive. tried to install XP OS from CD. CD is accessed but the disk is not loaded. Screen messages to brief to read. Will the HP BIOS read a MS OS disk?
Go into the bios and set the cd/dvd rom as the first boot device. or If you get the option to select an alternate boot device during the bios, select your cd. Hopefully that is all that broke.
