At the present time pretty much all laptops are sold with conventional drives. Until the price of SSDs drop substantially that is unlikely to change. A laptop with an SSD of a size that most people would consider essential would be priced right out of the marketplace. On a desktop many people install an SSD for the OS and a larger conventional drive for storage. This provides most if the benefits of an SSD but at a substantially lower cost. But this is usually not possible with a laptop since most provide for only one hard drive.
