Have all labtops SSD drives? Since they are tiny, it is hard to believe there is something moving inside.

They are laPtops.

Nope, they can have small magnetic HD's. See examples here:

Even mp3 players, much smaller than laptops, used to use mechanical drives. They can be made very small.

You want to try stripping an old drive just for curiosity. It is an eye opener when you see the precision that went into the manufacture.

The smallest hard drives were 0.85". I imagine they were built like watches.

At the present time pretty much all laptops are sold with conventional drives. Until the price of SSDs drop substantially that is unlikely to change. A laptop with an SSD of a size that most people would consider essential would be priced right out of the marketplace. On a desktop many people install an SSD for the OS and a larger conventional drive for storage. This provides most if the benefits of an SSD but at a substantially lower cost. But this is usually not possible with a laptop since most provide for only one hard drive.
