Comment:

As the top speed of USB 2.0 is higher than firewire and presumably it is cheaper than firewire and USB 2.0 can be networked in different configurations AND USB 2.0 is conpatible with USB 1.0 is this the case or am I missing something?

Thanks

Hi,

I read an article in PC magazine several months ago about this very subject. The upshot of the article was that, in their opinion, no matter what USB 2.0 does, firewire will always have at least a niche in the industry.

The Mac G5 has Firewire 800. The race is again on.

according to the people at techtv USB 2.0 as a "slight" advantage over firewire as far as speed, but its really not noticable so they said go with which ever one your more familiar with.
