i have just recently been given a dell web pc. Well it can't do web, as I cant make the modem work. The device Manager states that there are 4 unknown devices,1 unsupported devices, and 1 simple PCI communications support (something like that). Please help me. (;

you should get the drivers for those devices. but first, you must know what the devices are. Can you see a modem in the device mngr?

No there is no modem im working on installing it but when i try it wants to know on wich port it is attached. As for the devices, i'm in the dark I have no knoledge of their idenity

is it an external or internal modem? if its external, its probably connected to port 1 or 2. if internal, then try 3 to 4. But you still need the drivers. You should at least know the model of the pc, so you could check the web for specifications.

its internal in a dell web pc, many people claim it is one of many types from xircom to 3com to intel. I have no clue this pc was owned by rich people so it has it all. Though i cant get the case open
