hi iam having problems with my computer and i beleive its a hardware problem but i can't determine witch component is the faulty.
i've installed winxp and the system kept freezing..so i checked the memory and its seem to be ok...checked drivers and they all up2date...replaced new P4 CPU and it worked ok and the system doesn't freeze anymore but i have another problem witch is when i leave the system running for 1 or 2 hours it restart by itself and it doesn't bootup again to windows becouse i noticed that the board doesn't detect the HDD and CDROM so i have to turn off and on the computer and it will detect the IDE devices and it boots to windows and it does the same thing again and again after 1 and 2 hours.
i have tried to flash the BIOS but still the same thing happens replaced IDE Cables...same thing
what could the problem be?? the Mainboard is ASUS P4S800-MX

Listen for a click when it restarts. You could have a problem with the hard drive heads unloading.
Also:
To have XP display the error message instead of rebooting:
1. Click Start, and then right-click My Computer. 2. Click Properties. 3. Click the Advanced tab, and then click Settings under Startup and Recovery. 4. Under System failure, click to clear the Automatically restart check box. 5. Click OK, and then click OK.
