OS: win 2003 server
CPU/Ram: 1GB
Product: Dell

I have a win 2003 server running on low disk space.
Please advice me on how to mirrow the hard disk and what hard drive do i purchase.
The one there at present is Adaptec Raid 1 SCSI Disk device.
Please tell me how to set this up.

with the system tag and dell's website, you should be able to figure out pretty quick what type of HDD the machine will take.

bad news, though: if it is your C:\ (or "system") partition that is running out of space, another HDD won't fix the problem: you cannot expand the system partition in a Windows build, unless you're willing to mess with 3rd party software to do it. If it is your C:\ partition where Windows is installed, start by deleting some things. Disk Cleanup can usually find you several gigs worth of compressed old files and stuff that can **usually** be deleted no problem (i just did the same on our accounting server a few weeks ago, and had no problems). Sometimes, log files (*.txt) can gunk up the works too, so you might try a search for *.txt files that have been modified in the last month.

whatever you do, have a backup of the server before you start.

Adding a second or subsequent disk and formatting it as a Dynamic disk can expand capacity of the Original disk. That is the primary purpose of Dynamic disks. Look at the links below of Google Dynamic disks.
