hardware monitor found an error

System manufacturer / System name
October 30, 2010 at 21:13:45
Specs: Windows XP, 2.605 GHz / 511 MB
When I open my PC, it says hardware monitor found an error. Then i'll see my comp temp in red and I'll just hit the enter and ignore it. What could be the problem? i also now experience my monitor flickering at the early part of booting. Can someone possibly tell me what to change or what the prob is?

Any opinion is greatly appreciated...

Do u see the temps? If yes post them. Try to use different soft like everest or check in bios. Do u have a v-card?

It will help if you tell us laptop or desktop.
The more info you can give us the better.

Could be video card
Could be cable

"I am following your blog regularly and got great information. I really like the tips you have given."
That is a confusing answer ;-)

Some HELP in posting on Computing.net plus free progs and instructions Cheers

i think the problem is my fan not fit to the processor. my CPU temp reached 90++ deg celcius when it is not fit. but when i got help with my younger brother, open the PC and have him pushed the fan against the processor it went back to 55 degrees cels.

by the way, here's my hardware monitor setup:
MB temp: 33 degreesC
CPU temp: 55 degreesC

CPU fan speed (in red): ignore
Chassis fan speed: N/A

+3.3V: 3.32
+5V: 5.16
+12V: 12.09
