I have recntly developed A problem, my computer will "freeze" up sometimes the hardrive will just quit working and I can move the mouse at other times both lock up...if I gently jiggle the tower it will start working again...what's causing this? It is obviously hardware...do I need to replace my IDE cables or my hardrive?

no that does sounds like the power connection is loose.
check all your power connections and make voltage checks in the bios just to make sure your power supply isn't overloading

I had the exact same problem. Just switch which Molex connector it's using and it should clear up (at least it did for me).
