recently i added a new hard drive to my system. after i added it and formatted it(i made to partitions with the hopes of installing my os on it) i moved data from one of my other harddrives onto it. after an extensive process i reinstalled my os onto the hard drive that it was originally on, not the new one. here is the problem, when i try to explore the contents of the new harddrive, the one with my data, i get a message saying that it was not formatted.

well as long as the file system of the OS and the drive you're trying to access is the same, you shouldn't have much trouble.
The MBR could have been damaged somewhere along the way of your installation of both the drive and windows. If you still have a working installation of windows on one of your drives, i would just reformat the other one (the new one)...keep in mind that you do not HAVE to have it partitioned to install an OS on it..only formatted, they are different.

Then just recopy the data you had on that drive from the original, or install windows on it if that's what you want to do. If the new drive has a faster rpm than the old one, you will get better performance if you install windows on that drive. Also keep your games on that faster drive.
