I've had this problem for a while now but haven't been able to sort it out.

Since I added a new hard drive to my computer my sound has been skipping whenever something else is happening as well. For example, when I load a program while listening to music or while playing games.

I've checked for IRQ conflicts with my sound card but there dont seem to be any.

My sound card is a Soundblaster 16 PCI and the hard drive is a Maxtor 6 Y120L0.
