hard drives

i ambuilding a new comp and re using my old hard drive. im not 100 percent sure wether the mobo and the hd are compatible tho.

i know the mobo has a Serial ATA port but also has 2 ide. i was thinking that maybe those might be for the cd drives any advice would be great thanks

You can connect HDs or CD drives to the IDE controllers. It sounds like you may have only one IDE controller with two connections.

yea it is compatable with the mother board on the mother board there is 2 little green colored bars and using the pics u provided they are on the bottom right those are you IDE controllers if u get a magnifing glass or with the naked eye the should be some type of text on the mother board near the controllers that says ID1 and ID2 or something similar to that ID1 is your primary controller for your hard drives and ID2 is for your cd-rom(s)

That's not strictly true. You can hook the cdrom drives and hard drives anywhere. However it is common practice to hook the bootable hard drive up as the Primary master.
