Hard Drive?

CPU/Ram: 1 gig 512ram

Having a strange thing happen on occasion. Upon booting I will get the normal windows screen, but I will have a series of lines appear. Like so " " " " " They are all white in color, and are in even rows on the whole screen. I tried different monitors. Same thing, but it does not happen all the time. Maybe every 4th time I boot up. The drivers are all current ( video-card) NviDia 5700. Plus when I reboot I have to select "boot normally". I think i'm getting a potential hard drive problem.. Thanks

Having to choose "boot normally" is usually because of a previous improper shutdown.

The other problem sounds like it's video related.
