Need to know please, the optimal setup procedure for 2 hard drives and a cd-writer, should the hard drives be piggy backed together or should the master drive and the cd-writer be coupled, or the secondary master harddrive be coupled with the cd-writer. Which of these two will be optimal. And will 80pin cables join either of the hard drives with the CD-writer, will it make any difference? Thank you

Unless your motherboard is really old it shouldn't make any difference how you connect them.

Some people have a preference to have HD's on one channel and CD/DVD drives on the other. Others have HD's and CD/DVD drives mixed on a channel.

80 pin cables are OK for everything

Would you expect a PIII 500Mhz@512Mb-ram with Win ME....to be too slow to run HDrives piggy backed if for example I am running MP3's off the slave drive, I am getting a lot of skips hops and bleeps, the songs are not at fault, they are fine when run off my P4.
Any ideas please
Thanks
