hard drive???

ok i installed my WD 250 gb hard drive as a slave on my IDE, master is my old HD and when i go to System-Hardware profiles the drive is listed under disk drives (i have 2 cd drives installed already on my 2nd IDE) and not under storage devices. is there something wrong, what can i do???

Hi if you formated the 250g hdd it must have been partitioned first, I sugguest going here http://fdisk.radified.com/ and read.
reading you post do not know what your problem is. cd drives will be listed under IDE devices, that is where they a connected.
just need to be sure you see both hdd's listed.

I doubt this has anything to do with it but I would put the 250 gig drive as 2ndary slave, move the cd-rom to prim slave & your burner (if you have one) to 2ndary master

depending on the age of the "old drive" it can not address [run] the new drive. I would suggest that it should be set as MASTER on the 2nd ide channel. This eliminates the issue of lesser devices trying to run this drive.

So you formatted as NTFS? Does the drive show up in DISK MANAGEMENT?
