Comment: I recently had a bad crash of my comp. Managed to get it back up and running with some help from some friends with one problem. When it first started up, the ms ramdrive was designated to D:\ which was my second hard drive. I managed to sort this by correcting the wrong thing in the file windows help told me to. But now my hard drive just won't show up at all. Hope somebody can help me. Thanks

Reply: (edit)Hi, I'm confused. You had a crash so you installed a second harddrive? Which drive is it that doesn't show up, the new one or the old one? Do you mean it doesn't show up even in BIOS? What did you do to correct the problem that you thought you had when ramdrive had letter D:\ ? Are you sure you have the jumpers set correctly? Give us a little more information and we will try to help.

Reply: (edit)Re-read your post and you will see that we need a little clarification as to the problem. Boot with a startup diskette and you should see both the C and D hard drives. This should happen regardless of what you did after reading windows help, since whatever you did there would affect windows, but not the startup diskette. If your startup diskette sees a drive C hard drive but no second hard drive, then the problem is not a windows problem but a bios and/or physical connection problem or even a failed second hard drive problem.
