Hard drive size

In "FDISK" the 20 Gig MAXTOR shows 19.540 Gig
useable space. In "My Computer" Properties
it shows the size as 20 Gig. Is this the way
it should be?

Yah that's right. the functional word is "useable". When the drive is formatted that formatting uses up space therefor is is no longer useable.

It's kinda like buying a 2by4. their actually 1 3/4" X 3 1/2".
