Hard Drive Power supply off

Hi: I have a western Digital IDE hard drive 20 gig. When I connect to my hard drive with the motherboard. The power can not be turn on. I tried with servel computers. But same thing happen. Anybody know why?

it could be the power supply's connector that is going bad, did you try other ones?? or it could be your hard drive

G'day,
No other components are affected?? ie the CDROM, fans etc all still work? If that is so, it sounds like it might be an open circuit somewhere. Is there a fuse on the drive? Look on the circuit board if you can (careful not to touch it unless you )and check for burn marks or obvious damage. As has already been suggested, it might be a loose connector so carefully check out the power connector of the drive (particularly the 12V one)and look for loose pins and /or broken ones. Everything is not on. But if I unplug the hard drive everthing will turn it on like normal.
