Hi, I have an external hard drive that I have owned for less than six months. I plugged it into my friends mac and it said it was too powerful for her system, although the external hard drive is not near full. I than attempted to plug it into my own PC and it would not be recognized on the computer, although the power light on the external hard drive is turned on. I have then tried it will multiple computers and another USB cord and still nothing has happened. PLEASE HELP ME!!

The Directory might have been corrupted by the attemp to connect with the MAC.

Ok so how should this be fixed? will i be able to recover my data?

Probably most of it can be recovered. See file recovery software. You might need another drive to save the data to.
