Hard Drive not detected

I put together a computer for my mom. It is unable to detect any of the 3 hard disk drives i have tested. The jumper is correct and i am almost positive that i connected it properly. It starts to scanning IDE drives and then says "No hard drive attached to fast trak controller, the BIOS is not installed." It can detect the CD ROM as secondary master and the A drive works. I took the RAM out and put it back in. i used multiple ribbon cables. I looked up my hard drives specs in hopes to manually enter the values into the BIOS since autodetect didnt work. Unfortunately i didnt even find any place i could define those values. Im out of ideas. There is nothing on my Hard drive. My Hard drive is a "40 GB AT Maxtor D740X-6L." My mother board is an ASUS P4C800. Please help.

How do you have this drive connected? Fast track controller is listed under SCSI and Raid controllers. So, unless you have the drive connected to that, you will get that message each time you boot.

Go into the BIOS and disable raid, then your HDD should work
