hard drive not detected

OS: Windows 2000
CPU/Ram: Athlon 1700+ / 512MB

I just got an 80 gig hard drive from IBM/Hitachi and am trying to format it. The BIOS detects it, but when I go to My Computer, it's not there for me to format it. Any ideas? Thanks.

First you have to run Fdisk and partition it.
