Hard drive making weird noises

Approximately 5 minutes after I boot up my computer makes these clicking noises. I am pretty sure it's my harddrive. Then a blue screen comes on and says "cant write to drive C:" and it locks up. The only way to boot up again is to remove the plug from the wall and then reboot. It works fine for a few days then the same thing happens again. It has become more and more frequent recently. Is there anything I can do short of replacing the harddrive?
