Hi, today I had a strange masage while in Windows. It was saying that some file was being corrupt and cannot be saved at that location and i have to find another location for it. Note that while I'm having this masage on me screen I am not doing anything with the laptop. So after that I was ? and restarted it. But it would not load the windows ( after the sreen where it shows loading with the MS logo it shutdowns automaticly) I tryed already with the factory restore cd. I've done it so many times and have always worked by this moment. It gives me an error #49 Write Error! I tryed with the XP disk - recovery console but the thing is that in order to get to the console i need at least 5 tries. Every time when it starts to boot from the cd, loads the driver and then right before it gives me the option to select what to do it turns off automaticly. after sever times i am able to get to the console it self.
i tryed the repair option - i did chkdsk /p and /r and it gives me:

"The volume serial number is 0000-0000
The volume appears to contain one or more urecovarable problems."
so that did next.
I tryed to write a new MBR. It gives me a masage that the new master boot record has been seccessfully writen.

But again. that is about it. I can not install new XP. When I try to format the disk either under NTSF or FAT it gives me an error that the format could not be performed. It also says that the disk may be damaged or not connected properly.

What do i do? could that be a virus that f---ed up my partition tables? or it is just that my hard is all gone?

I may be wrong but from what you have posted it sounds very much like the drive itself has been damaged.....

I dont know if you have any data on there which you cant afford to loose but, disconnecting the drive and hooking it up to another comp may be worth a try... Go to the drive manufacturers web site and down load the diagnostic software and run it, that should tell you if the drive has gone south for the winter..

But do check your connections, make sure the cabels are connected properly, make sure the bios is recognising the drive, etc..

IF IT AINT BROKE, DONT FIX IT
