Hi
I have around 100 windows 2000 desktops on a Win NT 4.0 network. I ghost the desktops from the network with a ghost server. Lately I have many hard disk failures. MY windows 2000 installation is with NTFS file system. I have no choice but to buy and change hard disk, but I don’t know why I have this problem lately?
Any ideas?
thanks

we have experienced the same thing with a recent installation of Win 2k server with about 50 XP Pro workstations. At least 7 HD's died in the first 2 months.

This was at the end of an unusually hot British summer, and the building they were in was like a sauna sometimes.

I put it down to either the heat or a batch problem. They were all Maxtors, what make were yours, out of interest?

just a note:

HP announced that they have had a problem with Fujitsu hard drives failing and was going through a replacement process.

Not sure if this helps, but it does mean that there is a possiblity that some other manufactures are having problems with bad hard drives
