I am attending a lab in a school. There one computer is showing Hard drive Error. Hard Drive - failed drive monitoring test and read/ verify test.
cable test,drivemonitoring diagonostic test,controller diagonostic test, write read compare test and seek tests are OK.
When I was absent some hard ware people corrected it and it was working .But now the error is coming again. please help.

Boot from a floppy and run scandisk c: /surface If you get a bunch of bad sectors, your drive may be dying.

Depending on your model the error you get may be a false code that some manufacturers have corrected with a patch to the hard drive bios.These corrective programs work only with specific models.You will have to run a search with the particular model you have and find if the patch exists and can be applied.The following is an example of this. http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/notebookprosignia/us/download/8098.html The error code may also be real and the following reference gives you a procedure to follow to correct the error. http://www.compaq.com/athome/support/msgs/1270-1675/error.html Good luck.
