I have a Seagate 120gb (NFTS) that recently "disappeared" while xp was running. I mean it was no longer visible in "my computer." After rebooting.... the bios recognizes the disk as my primary IDE slave drive. The hd is a data storage hd only. Still not visible in "my computer." It appears in Device Manager and in Disk Management however in the latter it appears as 100% unallocated space. Empty. This is disastrous news because this hd is not backed up. I downloaded the diagnositcs tools from the seagate site and the tools ran perfectly with no problems detected. I'm lost as to what has happened other than the distinct possibility that its crapped out. Any hope or advice about how to "save" the data?
