hard drive beeping

I did a bad thing and accidently plugged in a drive while the power was on. Now the drive makes a grinding beep sound when the motherboard tries to access it. I really would like a file off of that drive so I'm wondering if there's any way to still acccess the files or get the drive working, though I dont expect it :\
