Here is the problem: when i was partitioning the primary disk with Partition Magic i choose to make the new partition as primary disk, all was running well, but then the proccess stop like in 26% and it stayed there for hours, so i turn off the computer (by holding the on button), and when i turn it on again, there was no OS detected, i tried using the Partition Magin boot disk, but i gets an error of "Error 88: Unable to find correct drive" i looked for the error on the support page of the software but it doesn't says a way to fix the problem, i also tried to run fdisk with a bootdisk but it doesn't work, i get a "No fixed disks present." message, i also tried with the Hard Disk Mechanic software and made a couple of tries but nothing, it doesn't detect the hard disk, i move to the PhoenixBIOS Setup Utility by pressing F10 but no hard disks were detected and i only have the option of Main, Boot and Exit...that's all i looked for and i dont have a clue on how to repair this thing, i guess i only need a bootdisk that can reinstall the hard disk with it's default settings, but can't find it anywhere...sorry for boring you with all the text...i hope you can help me. thanks for advance

BIOS auto detects a valid hard drive, if BIOS is not showing a hard drive present then would assume your hard drive has died, all boot disks require a valid BIOS entry to detect disks.
If you know how to open the case it may be worth checking the hard drive connectors

i dont think it is a connector...since it stopped working by a software problem...is there a way to reinstall my hard disk?

Just because you were running software at the time of the failure does not mean that the failure is software related. If IDE autodetect is enabled in bios, and the drive cannot be detected then it's 99% certain it's toast. The other 1% chance is a failed IDE controller on the motherboard or problem with power or data cables.
I used to have a signature but it disappeared and I just couldn't be bothered writing another so please feel free to ingore this.

My system doesn't recognize that I have a cd rom (or d:). How do I fix? I can't open the cd rom to remove or put in a cd.
