the message is "failed to detect drivers"
You don't need any special drivers for a hard disk. As this is an ATA one the drivers are built in to Windows XP. It sounds like you need to reinstall the OS (or possibly the hard disk is bad). Are you sure the message isn't "failed to detect drives"? Is the drive listed in the BIOS?
