Kyle, it sounds like either you installed your ram in the wrong way or it was not sitting in the slot correctly. At this point take your computer in to a tech to see if your mobo is fried or you just need a new 256 ram stick.

Abort, Retry, Fail?

Your computer will support 64MB, 128MB, and 256MB PC100 RAM.

If you computer only supports PC100 then a lot of the newer PC133 RAM will not work with it. This wasn't true a few years ago. Back then most PC133 RAM worked OK in a PC100 machine.

You need to only use RAM that is listed to run on your computer and is PC100.

I'm siding with Wi-Tiger on this. Happy smoke? You could try removing the one and see if it starts, but the smoke concerns me.

When all else fails beat the $%!* out of it!!!

first off i didnt blow my power supply cause i hear it running, second it still wont start when i take out the new ram and leave the old or if i flip the other rams, third happy smoke is a term used when u basically blow up something with electrical in it, and when u begin to laugh because ur so pissed at what has just happend. it shows up alot when messing with AMPs for cars. thats just a little behind the whole "happy Smoke"
