This is a pentium-II motherboard.
Computer will not activate display at power-up. Power on sequence that I usually see is a screen from the Nvidia Vanta TNT2 graphics, then it proceeds to screen with memory test. Thinking the hang might be in graphics card, I replaced it with original card, but same problem -- no display.
The lights on the 2 CD drives initially come on briefly. Also the HD activity light comes on for a few seconds, but there is no floppy access either. I have an EZ bios added to allow recognition of large 40GB drive. Other hardware includes TV card, network card, modem card. The BIOS is an Award (now Unicore) dated 10/97, and Unicore will sell me a new one, but I'm not sure it is the bios. The powersupply is fairly new. I did note that now it will not power OFF using the front button when it hangs. However this button will work on power ON. I must use the power supply switch on rear to power off.
Monitor checked OK on another system.

Some older BIOS' have a "boot delay" to allow extra time for an older hdd to power up. Not sure this is your problem, but might be worth checking.
