Hoping for some ideas here. The PC was working great and then one night when it was turned on nothing happened except that the screen went grey ... CD burner isn't working properly and USB ports aren't working at all. In the past year and a half I had already replaced the memory, hard drive and motherboard. Motherboard is an AOpen AX3SP and the video card is a PCI All in Wonder with TV out. When the monitor is unplugged from the computer then the screen will go black and it will say NO SIGNAL. Also about a week after the PC went down it was started up and everything seemed fine. My friend's son was able to access the programs he needed and do what he had to, then he shut it down again and it hasn't started since. This PC has been a headache since day one. Any help anyone can give would be much appreciated.

No beeps but you can hear the fans. Just a grey screen on the monitor. No start up post screen.

ok now where getting somewhere the cpu fan is spinning it appears take off the side cover and confirm it. now take out the ram stick/s 256 and modem and video card but only leave the cpu and fan in you should get beeps now? and then put the ram stick 256 back in you will get beeps saying theres no vedio card, now stick in the video card in the pci slot i bet it gives you no beeps now, but i bet its dead..yes the motherboard will know its there and give no beeps but somthing burned out in it and will not display on the screen.

Thanks David. I'll give it a try tonight. I am wondering about something though ... would a bad video card also knock out the USB ports?

Hi everyone ... I want to thank all of you who helped with suggestions. I finally got the darned machine fixed after swapping just about everything out to no avail. The last swap was the power supply and guess what? I've run all the diagnostics and just finishing up a defrag and it will be set to go back. Thanks again. I do appreciate the help.
