I was messing around with the AtiTool for overclocking and overclocked my video card (a xtasy 9550). I didn't realize that you had to press the "Set clock" button when you found numbers of overclocking you liked. Unfortunately, I think I had my overclock numbers set about somewhere with a core of 700 and a memory setting of 400 (both about 2 1/2 times the default settings) and clicked set to core (not knowing what would happen). Well my screen turned green (a pretty nice light shade) and I pressed the soft reset button shortly thereafter (control, alt, delete wouldn't work). When the computer rebooted my bios on the motherboard was completely reset (i.e., all my personal settings were gone). After I changed the BIOS back to my settings, everything seemed to still work fine. Did my motherboard shut itself down automatically because of the video card overclock? It's a soyo motherboard so I didn't know if this was a safety feature. Should everything be okay in the future if it works okay now?

well what might of happened is when u oc your video card too much i think it can mess with your entire mobo and it probly cause it to shut off. I would set your card beack to stock speeds and run 3d mark and games that make your comp work hard doom 3 half life 2 full settings ect. if everything appears well than i guess u got lucky.
