OS: win98 se
CPU/Ram: AMD K-6
Product: COMPAQ PRESARIO 1625!
Comment:

Hi expert folks,
Ever before I mentioned that I got the old laptop Compaq series 1625 model unit with a 266 MHz AMD-K6 MMX enhanced processor, 128 MB RAM, 512 KB L2 cache and 24X CD-ROM with 4 gig HD.
The problem is that recently when I turn on the laptop, during the booting it displays,
CPU= AMD-K6 266 MHz
00000640k system RAM passed
00130048k Extended RAM passed
0512k Cache SRAM Passed
Mouse initialized
Fixed Disk 0: FUJITSU MHA2032AT
ATAPI CD-ROM: TOSHIBA CD-ROM XM-1802B
ERROR Save to Disk partition not found
0270: REAL TIME CLOCK ERROR feature is disabled
Run phdisk for information. FILE: create new.
PARTITION: consult manual.
Hit any key to exit.
F1 boot F10
Computer setup

How do I fix it? Thanks for idea!

This makes me think that maby the BIOS battery has gone dead:

"0270: REAL TIME CLOCK ERROR feature is disabled"

and this one sounds like the hard drive is having problems although could also be because of the flat battery:

"ERROR Save to Disk partition not found"

You should have a look in the BIOS and check the startup options, it seems very likely the BIOS battery is flat.

I agree that it sounds like a bad CMOS battery.

Did you press F10 to access the BIOS & check your settings to see if they're correct? If the date/time are wrong, that's a sure sign that the battery needs replacing.
