graphics unstable

CPU/Ram: 1.6 - 384 DDR

Specs:

Geforce4 TI4200se (128MB, 250 core)
Pentium4 1.6gHz
384MB DDR RAM (PC2100)
Latest nVidia drivers
DirectX 9

Some of my games run at about the same FPS as a Playstation One.

If I increased my memory to 768MB DDR, would my games run at a smooth, good FPS without noticable frame skips?
