can anyone help me, i'm having graphics problem. i've installed several games in my pc namely: battlerealms:winter of the wolf, warcraftIII: frozen throne,cs and nba2004. everytime i run one of the games my pc suddenly hangs and white crooked lines appear before my monitor and several red stripes appear covering the mouse pointer and it will reboot in a few seconds. i dont know if it is due to the video driver or the hardware itself (w/c is Inno3d Fx5200 128bit. the specifications of my pc follows, ecs board with a nforce2 chipset, 512Ram, athlonxp2600 and the fx5200 video card with an os of winxp. ive installed few software: macromedia flash, adobe photoshop, ms office, dap, devc++, divx, norton, winamp, and the said games above. please help me, i would really appreciate it tnx

If this does this ONLY in games, the usual suspects are:
>Bad memory; switch out your stick with one you know is good and see if your problems disappear;
>Oveheating; next time you reboot, quickly boot into the BIOS (press Delete on boot), go to PC HEALTH, and see what temperature your CPU is. By the time you get there, add about 4 or 5 degrees to whatever temp you see and you will be pretty close to what you are running at with this game.
>Video Card overheating/ this happens on occasion when there isn't enough air movement in the case and its a hard one to diagnose; this is more common if you overclock your video card, however.
>Delete and reinstall your video card drivers; use the deletion utility that usually comes with your card driver disk; I usually install them through Control Panel/Add_Remove Programs for convenience.As long as you do it, check your manufacturer's website for updated drivers, that may solve your problem.
>Be sure you are running DirectX 9.x
Hope this helps!

did you buy these games as a bundled set or individually? uninstall them all and reload and play them one at a time. maybe only one game is corrupted.

If you want to check your Memory Go here.

Let it run at least 1 hour to do a check on the memory.<===Lefty===

Sounds like an overheating graphics card.
Have you been overclocking it? Did you check the fan on the chip? Those little Graphics card fans get jamed very easily.
Symbios
