Notice that the ATI RADEON 9800SE is 128MB BUT the ATI RADEON 9600XT is 256MB! :)

Always go for the higher Specs in any case (except between AMD and Intel processors) the higher the memory the better.
I'd definetly take the 9600XT any day.

Well if you find a 9800se 256-bit then go for that, in this case the 9600xt is the better choice,

btw. there is a difference in memory quality between the 9600xt 256 and 128...usually the manufacturers put slower memory chips in the 256 mb cards to lower the price...and the difference in performance between the 128mb and 256mb 9600xt is not great...I would go for the 128mb 9600xt.

Card Chip DX Generation Chipclk Memoryclk Buswidth Pipes

9800SE ATI R350 DX 9 380 675 128-bit 4x1

9600XT ATI RV360 DX 9 500 600 128-bit 4x1
so my vote goes to the 9600 xt if the prices are within each other.
but i wud rather have an 8 pipe one. since i see the 9800 pro coming down in price
