I have a radeon 9600pro / windows 2000
I've recently done a repair/reinstall of windows 2000 (keeping all my old files)
After this reinstall when i first come into windows and when attempting to start games like counter strike, rise of nations etc i get the message:
The procedure entry point DdEntry1 could not be located in the dynamic link library GDI32.dll
I've tried all i know attempting to fix this, completely removed all old drivers, installed drivers that came with the graphics card, installed the newest catalysts, i've even replaced the GDI32.dll file with another one i downloaded (i had to boot into recovery console to do this and it wouldnt boot after i did it.)
Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this problem?
Thanks

The only reference I could find on it was on Roxio 6.0 Platnium. No real solution there either.
I don't know?

Hey Mike,
I did the exact same thing (repair win2k), and also have a ATI 9600 PRO, and was getting the same error message:
(The procedure entry point DdEntry1 could not be located in the dynamic link library GDI32.dll)
The thing is with doing a windows 2k repair, it resets your operating system to its orginal state ((or tries to)) I'm not exatcly sure on the technical specifics, but the DdEntry1 problems is related to DirectX.
What I did: Reinstall your win2k service pack (service pack 4: http://www.microsoft.com/Windows2000/downloads/servicepacks/sp4/download.asp#express)
An then reinstall your DirectX 9.0b (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=141D5F9E-07C1-462A-BAEF-5EAB5C851CF5&displaylang=en), and it should work
Hope this helps!
