Hi all, this is my problem, i have just got a new graphics card its a geforce 6600 gt, i was told that they where a good card,my old card is a geforce 4200ti which i have had no problems with, when i placed my new card into my pc things started to go ronge, at first it was just playing games, it freeze on me or crash, sometimes it made the screen go funney colors, then it started to do it no matter what i was doing, i have took it to my local pc repaiar man who put all the new drivers in and re instaled windows. i got it back it was fine for a few hours then started doing it again, the screen is flikering while i am typing the letter, please help the card cost me alot of money comes.

Not much of a computer tech if that's what he did...sounds like a hardware problem to me, not software. I hope you didn't pay for this "service"?
The 6600GT requires an additional power plug from the PSU...did you have that plugged in? Is your current PSU powerful enough to handle the added load of the new video card?
Did you reinstall the Ti4200 to see if the problem goes away?
Did you uninstall the old drivers before installing the new drivers?

Thanks for all the help, the problem is now fixed. the problem was that the power lead to the card was shared with one of my drives, the card as now got its own lead and it worked alot better, also i reinstaled the driver 7.1.89 with no anti virus running and it worked better still, the last thing done was to turn of agp fastwrite. it is now working great. Could somebody pleace tel me what fastwrite dose and why it had to be turned of thanks >
