Solved Graphics Card gives Green Screen after Screensaver

Specs: Windows 8.1 64 Bit, AMD FX-8350 8 Core @ 4.0 GHz w/ 2x4 DDR3-1600
Hey Everyone,

Occasionally (about 1 in 20 times) after I wake my computer from being in Screensaver mode, I will get a green screen. It only does this if the computer has been in screensaver mode for at least 30 minutes. Either unplugging and replugging the HDMI cable or rebooting the computer will change the display back to normal. It only does it with one screen, and I've had problems with this same screen before. Do you guys think it is just the screen, or the graphics card? Do you think reinstalling my graphics drivers would help or be worth it?

Thanks.

The only power options in Windows that I have set are for it to go into screensaver mode after 3 minutes, and to go into standby after 60 minutes. As far as I can tell, my monitor doesn't have any auto-off options.

Why is the screensaver mode so long?

What do you mean? It goes into screensaver after 3 minutes, but the green screen only happens after it has been in screensaver mode for at least 30 minutes.

Check the power options. It may be a combination of the screensaver and the monitor shutdown settings.

It'd be in control panel--power options--advanced power settings--display--console lock display off timeout-- if that's the problem.

I would start by downloading and installing the latest drivers for your video card.

HDMI can be fussy at times too. If I reboot my Tivo, the display comes up all pink until I power cycle the TV..

Yep, checked the power options, nothing there.

Tried updating the video drivers, hasn't done it since, but like I said it isn't very common and happens randomly.
