hi,
I have evga 7800gtx 256ram PCI-E graphic card, the GPU core temperature is at 60'c without playing game's. When i play on fable the lost chapters or oblivion i can hear the fan on the graphic card speed up,the GPU core temperature goes up to 78'c.

I would like to know if 78'c ideal for high end graphic card or will it cause overheating?

Not a problem under full load.

Your card's throttle threshold (°C) is in the triple digits anyway. So, if you do not experience severe artifacting while gaming extensively, you've got nothing to worry about.

Well while you can live with those temps, they're not ideal...

Do you have good airflow in your case? how many casefans do you have, and how are they arranged..?

Also make sure your PCI soundcard is as far away from the PCI-E slot as possible...
