Scroll to the bottom of this page & you'll see that 1680 x 1050 isn't listed on the mode table but it *may* still be possible using the latest ATI Catalyst drivers:

Hi there
Thanks for the reply.
I saw this site too. Still doesn't really answer my question as although it isn't listed as a mode; I was wondering if it might run at 1680 x 1050.
Anybody else know if this is possible?
Thanks :-)

Of course you can. My old P2 rig has a Radeon 7000 with drivers from 2003(!) that'll run 1680x1050 as well as many other widescreen resolutions.

Tha ATI software won't display resolutions that the monitor can't support. This means that if you have a 4:3 display the wide screen resolutions won't usually show. You need to be sure the monitor is properly identified and if a,LCD monitor, the drivers are installed.
